Chocolate Boiled Oatmeal Cookies
Chocolate Boiled Oatmeal Cookies
Ok, so you want a homemade sweet treat but don't have an
oven? Then try these no-bake cookies, they are delicious, simple, and you can
customize them if you want! All you need to make is a stove or hot place and
some table space.
Ingredients
·
2 cups sugar
·
½ cup cocoa powder
·
½ cup milk
·
1 stick (8 tbsp) butter
·
1tsp vanilla
·
3 cups oatmeal
·
Foil or wax paper
Instructions
1.
Combine the sugar, cocoa, and milk in a saucepan
and cook on medium-low heat (keeping the temperature cooler keeps it from scorching).
Make sure you keep an eye on the pan; once it starts to get near boiling, you
should stir it often.
2.
Boil for 2 minutes then remove from heat
3.
Stir in butter, vanilla, and oatmeal
4.
Once well mixed and butter's completely melted,
drop by spoonful onto the foil or wax paper (I think wax paper is better but
either will work) and let harden—if you can resist eating a gooey spoonful then
and there!
And that's it! But it you want to add some other flavors you
could add
½ cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
¼-1/2 Nutella—nutella tends to be moister than peanut butter
so you might add a bit less to keep the consistency
Chopped nuts or dried fruit—I've never tried it with this
but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Happy Non-Baking!
